SimWright’s focus was to develop a photogrammetric and 3D visual simulation modeling software for the commercial civic market and the visual simulation market. SimWright develops and sells 3 products in this market space. StereoGIS is SimWright’s flagship software toolset that provides stereoscopic feature extraction using commercial satellite and aerial reconnaissance cameras. StereoGIS can ingest imagery from GeoEye and DigitalGlobe, as well as, aerial imagery from the Zeiss DMC, Leica ADS, and Microsoft UltraCam systems. SimWright’s Spidar 3D model generator is combined with MultiGen’s Creator and TerraVista to provide 3D realistic models from stereo imagery for import into GoogleEarth.
SimWright has developed and deployed a 4-band camera system that provides fast-turnaround color and color IR mosaics of any area around the world. SimWright develops and maintains a georegistered camera system with full navigation suite that can be attached to any Cessna 172 class aircraft and flown by single-engine rated pilots. The system is self-contained with a Mission Planning component using GoogleEarth and an in-flight system that directs the pilot to “mow-the-lawn” to develop the raw imagery for a color mosaic. This imagery is processed on the on-board flight computer upon landing by SimWright staff located in a production facility detached from the flight operations. The mosaic is delivered on a custom image webserver that is maintained by SimWright personnel.
SimWright has developed a georeferenced and motion-compensated Lidar data collection system that is mounted on a van. This system is fully contained and produces a dense point-cloud of millions of data returns per second in a 360 degree arc about the vehicle. It is motion-compensated to remove the effects on image motion and provides a highly accurate georeferenced point-cloud that can be ingested into a modeling or measurement program such as Spidar or StereoGIS.
SimWright is a company that provides GIS services and consulting developing: highly accurate 2D/3D Planimetric data, contours, and geospecific building models for terrain databases from imagery using our stereographic feature extraction software.
