www.NWFLA.com is the site to visit for comments from locals concerning shopping, graphic design, advertising, travel (day trips), fishing (from the beach, pier, or from a charter boat), area photography (pics we like), family vacation stuff (affordable), restaurants (food we like), seashells, sand between your toes, Emerald Coast lifestyle (what is it?), Sandestin (is that a city?), and the Gulf of Mexico (is it the ocean?). And YES... we do ramble on about stuff, get over it! Come on in the water's fine! Copyright 2004 Clark&Company

These are a few of the things we just bought and how we feel about them...

When you get tired of keeping up with the Jones', just head out and buy it all first! Those of us who have lived here for a while know that shopping in our area was once a dreary, unsatisfying experience. But over the past few years the local market has blossomed into a frenzy of retail bliss. Where once there was nothing now lies a frontier of undiscovered possessions looking for a good home. Don't let them fall victim to a family who aims to use them to brag. Buy them first and be the talk of the neighborhood.

Okay let's start off with something you can't buy in stores yet. This local guy wrote a story about a girl he meet on Facebook and their relationship. It's called "Making friends with Candy" and if you have seen the ad on here you can read more about it or even buy your own copy. He is having a book signing on the 27th of August 2011 at Sundog books in Seaside from 5-9pm. If you have not been to Seaside it's a treat as well. Kinda of a story book land with pastel colored homes. Plus if you are an art collector there are some collectables to be found there as well.

Rumor has it the prettiest girls work at the Sephora in Destin Commons. Why is that you ask? Well, it's a place for make-up and all things pretty! Their staff is very attentive and will be happy to assist you in finding what works for you, and that stuff that makes your guy smell and look good too. Something for everybody, and they have samples of almost everything to try. Who doesn't like to play with makeup? www.sephora.com

I dont know about you, but when I go shopping I like to buy one of a kind, unique things. It doesn't matter if you are here on vacation or in need of a gift for a friend, Francesca's Collections at the Destin Commons mall hits the spot. Their outfits, jewelry, and shoes are sophisticated and casual at the same time - go find the perfect dress for that romantic beach walk. Or, if you are feeling playful and silly (I feel like that all the time) go check their "trinkets" collection. Stuff you never knew you needed! Like that Flapper girl flask or the super cute owl on a rope soap. www.francescascollections.com

You may think you found paradise walking along the beautiful Seaside area, but when you get to walk into Perspicasity, you'll feel like you are now in fashion heaven. Perspicasity is a very cute store part of the Seaside market, in business for 25 years now, and a true beachside bazaar. In here, you can find French market totes, straw cowboy hats, sarongs, handmade jewelry, clothing made of organic fabrics, and colorful vases and cotton matts for home decor. True Boho Chik spirit on an open market atmosphere. Go feel the soft cotton on your skin while you enjoy the breeze... Simply out of this world....

The moment you walk into the Zoo Gallery, you really don't know where to look first. There are so many pieces of art, furniture, pottery, jewelry, and even books, you really need to make sure to take your time to appreciate it all. I love how they pride themselves in supporting American artists. Gotta love an art gallery that has an eye for great pieces and how that doesnt always means expensive. If you see Roxy or Chris there tell them we said hey.

Enjoy the First Friday ArtWalk from 5-8 with some galleries even providing refreshments to visitors. Check out the web site for a "thick painting" painter and you will see his covered tennis shoes and smile (www.justingaffrey.com).
